Lone Star Bakery, Inc. is a family-owned business and is currently looking for a Material Handler (6:00am-4:30pm shift) to support our mission in providing superior customer service as we continue our History in the Baking!

The Material Handler performs a variety of warehouse functions in support of Production as instructed by the supervisor. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (“GMP”) and complies with OSHA standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and other warehousing equipment.
• Loads, unloads, inspects, and transfers goods within the Company’s production area, freezers, coolers, dry storage and docking areas.
• Ability to work in a team environment; wit the common goal of supporting the Company.
• Verifies items picked for shipping to sales orders and items received to bill of lading, purchase orders, and other documentation.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Completes internal paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Follows warehousing protocol and procedures (such as FIFO).
• Ability to cycle count products to ensure the accountability is always maintained.
• Maintains a clean work area that is free and clear of foreign objects and materials.
• Notifies supervisor of any warehousing issues or equipment malfunctions.
• Complies with GMP and Company standards.
• Ability to travel between both plants and in different areas of the temperature-controlled warehouse.
• Trains employees and demonstrates best practices when required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements, Education, & Certifications

• Ability to be forklift certified.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and write English with basic math skills.
• Knowledge of barcoding system.
• Ability to be on feet all day and perform walking, stooping, and bending functions as required.
• Ability to push and pull pallets and other packaging materials.
• Ability to understand and use barcoding scanners and devices.
