Lone Star Bakery, Inc. is looking for a Purchasing Manager to ensure all raw materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner for production and maintain inventory levels. 

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and replenishment levels for raw material, ingredients, and packaging.
• Ability to manage all purchasing, distribution and inventory both in house and back stock agreements with vendors.
• Establish, build, and maintain vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with Sales, Research & Development and other internal departments to meet their requests.
• Coordinate RFQ’s with vendors.
• Follows-up with vendors as needed to resolve open items.
• Track Purchase Order Confirmations, Ship Dates, Due Dates and Tracking Information.
• Ability to negotiate individual and bulk pricing from vendors.
• Manage small complexity incumbent negotiations
• Collaborate with QA on non-conforming goods or other issues pertaining to packaging and ingredients.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2-4 years purchasing ingredients or packaging experience, preferable in a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiating and analytical skills.
• Highly organized with an aptitude for problem solving.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills ability.
• Ability to multi task and prioritize tasks/good time management.
• Solid computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
